Quick Items are a large part of the gameplay as there is no easy regeneration method. Other than quick items, the only two sources of healing are save points (limited heal to a % of the health bar depending on difficulty) and regen (only found as a stat on items later on in the game, and heal very slowly).
Some quick items also have an additional effect such as enhanced defense or attack for a very short period of time, or heal a status condition such as burn or poison.
A worthy item of note is the Mysterious Wall Chicken; which always drops out of walls and is lootable throughout most of the game from destroying them, either by bomb fruit or attacking.
As seen in the G per H (Gold cost per point of Healing) column, the base cost per healthpoint is 4. Only two items are cheaper, namely the Mysterious Wall Chicken and the Lasagna. Items with further bonuses are more expensive for healing.
